Shinning some light on the new Epson Stylus SX200

The Epson SX200 is a step up from the entry level multifunction inkjet the SX100. It offers the same value for one printer cartridges with a set Epson SX200 ink cartridges available for under £30 from online retailers. There are also compatibles Epson ink cartridges available which cost up to 50% less than the originals. The SX200 has a good range of features including photo quality printing, scanning and copying as well as a built in memory card reader which enables PC-free printing from memory cards such as SD and compact flash amongst others. Printing quality is the most impressive feature of the Stylus SX200 and the printing function is what Epson has used as a base and added other featured on top of it. One thing that seems to contradict this is the fact that the weakest point of the SX200 is its printing speed. Epson claim it can print 34ppm (pages per minute) but tests from a number sources revealed that its not capable of more than 4ppm in a reasonable quality setting. This lack of speed also affects the photo copier functions of the SX200 and makes it unsuitable for copying large qualities of documents. Despite this the copier does have some good futures like PC free operation and one touch copying. The scanning capabilities of the SX200 are perfectly adequate for most everyday needs and there is software bundled with the machine that enables converting of printed text documents into digital format that can be edited. Overall The SX200 is a solid performer that offer a lot for very little money.
